RED IRON PRODUCTIONS

Picture
Author of Dusk EAMON CARR was born in Kells, County Meath and began publishing his poems in the late 1960s. Later, with Peter Fallon, he formed poetry-performance group Tara Telephone and co-edited the literary collections Capella and The Book of Invasions as well as early Gallery Books imprints, before concentrating his energies as writer, conceptualist and drummer for Horslips, the band he co-founded and remains a member of. A journalist and occasional broadcaster, he is a former recipient of the Sarah Purser Scholarship and Prize in the History of European Painting from Trinity College, Dublin. His first book, The Origami Crow, Journey into Japan World Cup Summer 2002 (Seven Towers) was published in 2008. This is Eamon's second play. Deirdre Unforgiven, published by Doire Press received widespread critical acclaim upon its release in 2013.

Andy Cummins - Producer Red Iron Productions

Andy began his career with Red Kettle Theatre Company in Waterford in 1996. He worked and toured with them for 10 years in almost every conceivable capacity from assistant stage manager to actor to board member, but mostly as a lighting designer and chief electrician.
He has worked as a lighting designer for Ouroboros Theatre Company, Crash Ensemble, Andrews Lane, The Tivoli Theatre and others.
Since 2010 he has worked as a Producer on such shows as The Devil's Spine Band by Trevor Knight for FeatherHead Productions, Animus by Denis Clohessy for Dublin Fringe Festival and Schiller's Mary Stuart in The Freemasons' Hall for Pageant Wagon Theatre Co.

Andy formed Red Iron Productions as a vehicle to produce Dusk, this brilliant new play by Eamon Carr. Andy and Eamon previously collaborated on a development workshop for Eamon's first play Deirdre Unforgiven with actors Olwen Fouere, Jack Walsh, Paul Reid and Caitriona Ennis and director Kellie Hughes.
